If you get a quote for a cabinet installation and that’s all the quote sheet says, be prepared to pay for big-ticket extras like crown molding, two-step crown molding, false doors, handles, knobs, light valance, toe kick, etc. Don’t let your “good price” become the most expensive price imaginable.
I once lost an opportunity to remodel a bathroom because I quoted a potential client $3,000.00 higher than my competitor. When it came time to install the tile floors, the contractor who won the job told the homeowner that the tile was never included in his original quote. The home owner ended up paying $5,000.00 more than she would have paid had she accepted a quote from ATB Building Inc.
A few years ago I lost a bid for a home addition because I was “way out of the ballpark” on my quote. The homeowner decided to go with one of our other competitors.
